Hi everyone, I was searching for RAM and initially considered the G.Skill 3200 CL14 2x8GB because it was around $200. The rest were similar in price, which confused me. Later, people mentioned that 3600MHz gave a slight boost in FPS. I checked my motherboard options and saw that 3600Mhz models weren’t available locally. Then I found out the G.Skill 4266 CL19 2x8GB is now around $230. My main question is whether the upgrade from CL14 to CL19 on the 4266 makes a noticeable difference compared to the CL14 on the 3200, or if the MHz increase is sufficient to compensate for the CPU change. I just have the numbers now. The system I plan to build includes: Mainboard – Asus Rog Strix X570-E, CPU – Ryzen 7 5800X.

Maintain the RAM clock at an infinite fabric clock ratio, meaning 3200MHz. This isn't possible with the 4266 kit unless you manually adjust the RAM, which I’m not qualified to advise on.

No.. just... no. That's a really nice spec and is going to perform essentially identically to the 3600 CL16 RAM @RYB-Michael

When you exceed the limits of Infinity Fabric (1800 MHz, likely up to about 1900 MHz), the CPU begins using dividers to maintain synchronization with faster RAM. This prevents a simple linear performance boost. Unless you're focused on overclocking, pushing beyond 3600 MHz isn't worthwhile. A range of 3200–3600 MHz in CL16-16 is acceptable.

Since most people mention 3200, I'll choose that. I'm counting on it to be the right amount. I'll wait until 3600 comes around and see if it's worth upgrading if the cost gap isn't too big.

Your 3200C14 supports 4400C15, which means you could be in for a surprise. You're using Royals.
