Hello everyone. I purchased the G.Skill 16GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3200MHz to boost my PC's performance, but CPU-Z still displays a speed of around 1064.1MHz. If I double it, I expect it to reach 2133MHz. Using CPU-Z, I see the results: Windows CMD shows other parts of my PC with a CPU speed of AMD Ryzen 7 18000X, GPU NVIDIA GeForcet GTX 1060, 6GB RAM, ASRock AB350M motherboard, and Windows 10. Can anyone explain why my RAM is running at 2133MHz instead of the expected 3200MHz? Was I scammed or missed something that I can't see?

Have you checked if the 3200mhz XMP profile is turned on in BIOS?

It's referred to as DOCP for AMD.

It varies by motherboard brand. Your Gigabyte model lists XMP as the name.

I have a similar issue on my motherboard. When I press "Save and Restart," I hear three BIP sounds, then the computer restarts repeatedly until it loads with the original BIOS settings.

Early Ryzen processors often have trouble at speeds over 2933 MHz. You might need to adjust the memory clock in BIOS to 2933 to improve performance.

I found a way forward with my motherboard support 3200Mhz RAM. Based on the QR code in my BIOS, I downloaded the official guide for this board. After adjusting my XMP settings to 2666 MHz and updating them in CPU-Z, the bosted frequency reached 1330.2 MHz. This should resolve the issue. Thanks for guiding me through this solution. Additionally, are there any steps you recommend to improve RAM speed?

You can always try running higher clocks and see if it works. If you want to read about it. RDC can help out.

It's odd how the PC sometimes switches between 2666Mhz and 2133Mhz, and it keeps changing back and forth. Being frustrated is normal, but I wonder if adjusting the voltage could help.

I located the final (half) solution for BIOS update. However, Ryzen Gen 1 models struggle with high-speed RAM, making 3200MHZ nearly unachievable. For my setup it went from stable 2400MHz to 2800MHz. Upgrading seems possible but would require voltage adjustments and is currently too complex. We can conclude this discussion.
