In short, I managed to join the queue for the EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid. Before my 8-hour window closed, I chose to buy it because finding a 30-series GPU is tough right now—I was aiming for a 3080 but don’t mind that much. I didn’t plan on getting the 3090 or its hybrid version. Luckily, I have some extra savings saved up. Now I’m wondering how this combination might perform at 1440p and 4K, especially since I don’t have the card yet and won’t upgrade the CPU soon, particularly during holidays. Thanks ahead!

System feels quite off-balance. The 2600x isn't very quick by today's standards. I’d opt to exchange the costly item for a more sensible one that offers better value and performance.

It wasn’t a strong urge since I had already planned to buy a new GPU, CPU, PS5 and 4K monitor all at once. The main issue is that more than half of those items aren’t available, and it’s Christmas time… I’m not sure how the last part connects to anything else. Still, I value your response.

Yes, choose a 3070 at 2600x resolution while maintaining 1440p, or upgrade to a CPU if you're using a 3090 for 4K gaming. Your thoughts might differ.

Sure, I understand. It won’t be a while before the upgrade is possible, and it might be smarter to hold off until the Ryzen 5000 becomes more common.

I don't see a major problem at the match. With current pricing, upgrading seems logical. I believe the real challenge lies with your setup. The 20 series models came with 120mm radiators, making them fit easily. The 30 series use 240mm units. My system already has a 360mm AIO on top for the CPU. Placing it in front could block airflow to components that aren't water cooled. That's what's preventing me from pressing the auto-notify button on one.

I own a Thermaltake View 71, so I don’t worry much about size. I’m trying to decide where to place it. I could put it at the top with the other 240 radiators for the CPU, since there’s room for 480 in total. Or I could position it on the back near the motherboard and front fans.

You probably won't manage a mostly locked 60 fps with an R5 2600x in Cyberpunk, since the R5 3600 barely clears that mark in high settings on Gamers Nexus. It might be better to wait a few months for CDPR to improve their performance or for the Ryzen 5000 series to become available before diving into Cyberpunk and fully leveraging your system's potential at 4k with nearly every other title.

Thanks for the details. The View 71 could be the next case I handle.

At 4K it should be okay. I use UW 1440p and saw a big improvement from 3900x to 5900x.
