I faced a similar issue with my 3090FE until I switched it to full water cooling. Using GPU-z helped track memory temperatures, but I still experienced extreme spikes without a crash. Eventually, I had to enable an FPS cap to maintain safe temps until I disabled it. On the other hand, if possible, position a fan across the backplate—those rear chips tend to overheat more than the ones under the heatsink.
