Hello everyone, my laptop is still under a three-year license for my college program. I’m wondering if switching to Windows 10 would allow me to use it without issues, or if there’s a restriction in place. I don’t see any Windows 10 activation on the device, so it seems like this might have been disabled.

This applies for three years. The restriction is common in many services.

Obtain the complimentary setup for Windows 10. It’s free and appears to outperform Windows 7, so upgrading to Windows 10 makes sense.

It seems uncertain how durable the Microsoft system is. Likely, the reservation for Win10 uses your existing Win8.1 key, which is three-year restricted. That suggests the Win10 version should also carry a three-year limitation.
