For this scenario, opt for 2x8GB. Even if a 4x4GB option exists, it’s better to start with the larger capacity now. This way, when you eventually upgrade to 32GB, you won’t need to replace all your existing drives and avoid the trouble of selling old ones. With 4x4GB, you’d have to purchase new drives for each upgrade, making it less convenient.

For my Ryzen builds I always choose Crucial. The Crucial Ballistix BL2K16G32C16U4B works well with first-generation Ryzen.
