Occasionally boosting a 4x8GB RAM to higher speeds can outperform a 2x16GB setup if you rely solely on XMP settings. Otherwise, the gains will be minimal.

4x8GB offers a marginal improvement, around 3 fps, but it restricts future upgrades.

It doesn't matter because you can't use quad-channel on the Z370, but you gain more upgrade options with a 2x16GB configuration.
