When switching from single to dual channel on the Hyper X 8x2 memory sticks, usable capacity increased from 16GB to 14GB while reserved space remained at 2GB. Why did this happen? Edited February 12, 2021 by 3koperis

You probably don’t have a dedicated GPU listed, meaning it was removed or not detected.

Yes, Samsung Rapid Mode is active. XMP is enabled, and your RAM is operating at 2133 MHz.

I believe the same problem has affected your wife's PC with 8 GB of RAM, making it frustrating to understand what was happening. Here’s a possible approach: Press Windows Key + R, type msconfig, go to Boot, click Advanced options, and ensure all settings are unchecked.

If it fits the dimensions of a stick, it might be a faulty connection on one of them.
