2700x vs 3700x,performance difference?
Hello everyone. I understand that 3700x offers better gaming performance, like higher FPS, but how much faster does it actually improve compared to 2700x in terms of compression, encoding, etc.? I think it provides a higher IPC, but by how much? The price difference is around 150-200 euros, which makes it almost twice as expensive as 2700x. So, I don’t think the performance boost justifies the cost compared to 3700x. Would you like me to share your thoughts on this?
Significantly faster results come from both an improved IPC and a larger FUP. The performance boost is noticeable, while the better IMC enhances overall efficiency. If the speedup is double, it may not be justified. A 2700x is comparable to a 3600, but intensive workloads typically see reduced FUP and lower IPC counts despite more cores and threads.
They offer very similar performance, but the 2700x performs better with multi-threaded tasks. Their prices for both models are comparable.
I'll wait for the 3700x price to drop before purchasing, because it's currently too costly. I checked Cinebench and it seems 3700x is faster but not worth the price gap for me. I wish I could try it out in compression or video encoding to see if it meets my needs.
