System Details: A lidless PGA 2700X delivering 3600mt/s at 2700X with B-Die. Includes several video cards for gaming. To simplify, I plan to mount the 2700X onto a water block. The loop will hold roughly 9c of water in Delta. This setup allows achieving high boost clocks with minimal changes. My main concern is how to utilize this configuration. Would others benefit from similar arrangements? Should we explore CPU and memory interactions? Gaming seems unlikely at this point. I have Windows 7 installed, but can upgrade to Windows 10 if needed. I’m considering a few adjustments tonight—clean the bench now.
Setup complete. Conditions seem reasonable, will tweak positioning again in 24 hours to check fit. Here’s a clear snapshot of all stock first. Ran a CB R20 just for a laugh to verify temperature readings, everything seems normal so far. Noteworthy observation is the XFR boosts thanks to cooler temps than typical users experience. Appears to have achieved a 0.75 multi gain. Regular standard XFR clocks run at 4350Mhz, but here it reads around 4425Mhz—slightly lower due to the reference clock’s drop below 100Mhz, so it’s adjusted to about 4415Mhz.
The screen capture shows improved performance after adjustments. Memory speed rose to 2400mt/s with automatic timing settings. Voltage levels were updated: SOC at 1.112v, Mem at 1.350v. XFR mode switched from auto to enabled. Outcomes are positive; core boost frequency and voltage increased noticeably. All boosts climbed from 3.85/3.90ghz to 4066mhz, earning a score above 150 points.
3200m/s at CL 14 with 1.35v, XFR activated. No further adjustments.
Add a brief stability check. Avoid aggressive CPU stress; normal memory activity at speed and clock settings is acceptable. A quick 20-minute run works well as a solid beginning. No room for further progress if you aim to push beyond it. That’s the plan.
Using some tests, depending on conditions PBO/CPB XFR is set to Auto=enabled by default. This means performance gains appear in the screenshots at 4066mhz with all cores boosted. It doesn't matter whether I turn PBO on or off; it consistently delivers around 40.75x. On ambient air cooling, I've recorded speeds as low as 3.8ghz. At 3466mhz CL 14 CB20 temps it's performing well. With a 70c load across all cores so far, the TCTL tends to run about 10°C hotter. The voltage stays stable at 1.375v during clock speeds at 40.75x multi boost. It would be good to check the memory under these conditions before moving forward.
