Hey everyone, I own a Ryzen 7 2700X with an AsRock B450 Pro4 board. I have two 16 GB DDR4-3000 MHz RAM sticks and a GTX 1060. Recently, the system has become slow and prone to freezing for short periods. I suspect the RAM might be the issue. The XMP 2.0 profile is set to run at 3000 MHz, but according to Corsair’s info, it should have a latency of 16-20-20-38. Should I update the RAM before trying anything else? If so, which model would be best? Some options include G.Skill Ripjaws V, Skill Trident Z, and others. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

These kits are primarily B-Die based, offering the greatest adaptability for overclocking and adjustments. The memory controller performs well at 2933MHz, unlike higher-end models such as 3200MHz or 3000/5000 series chips. With patience and fine-tuning, it may be possible to run a 32GB RAM setup at 3200MHz—just keep in mind that the CPU doesn’t support that frequency. To address the problem, enable XMP but manually reduce the speed to 2933MHz and disable power-down mode. GL!
