I'm checking if the 2600x resolution could slow down the 3070ti in games like Far Cry 6 and Battlefield 2042. Would it be better to upgrade to 5600x? If yes, what performance boost and frame rate gains can be anticipated?

Usually, but it depends on your motherboard. If you're using a B350, hold off until the next generation—we're almost there already. If your board supports the 5600X and has good RAM speeds, it could be worth it. You might see a 5-10% boost from the 2600X to the 5600X.

you'd notice only a 2-25 percent variation at 1440p, and the biggest change is csgo with a 100 fps increase but that's roughly all there is.

I’ve got a newer B450 Mobo with 2x8GB RAM at 3200mhz and the latest BIOS, so 5600x should work fine. I’m thinking about running games like BF2042—possibly at 100fps or higher. If it’s not noticeable, I might lower the settings a bit, but otherwise it seems like a good investment.

It really depends on the game. BF2042 isn't available yet, so we can't determine its CPU or GPU limits. It might be heavily CPU-bound, offering a 20% boost with a 5600X, or it could be as efficient as Doom Eternal, giving around 3-5% improvement. Wait until the release date or at least Black Friday to try it. You could snag a 5600X for a lower price, or upgrade to an Alder Lake or Ryzen 6000 platform, which are expected later this year.

I've been getting solid builds on BF2042, though I haven't tested FC6 yet. It's still in beta for that version, but from what I played it was decent. For the same cost you'd pay for a 5600x, you could hold off and check out what the 6XX series brings.
