Checking compatibility between a 2400 MHz RAM and a 9700 kHz chip. If you use the 9700 kHz, it might not work well with the 2400 MHz RAM. Trying to combine both could cause issues. Stick with matching frequencies for best results.

The key is understanding that if you have the budget for a 9700k, you should choose RAM that matches that performance level rather than chasing the slowest option available. RAM prices are good, and you can easily find DDR4-3000 or even 2800 models at similar costs to DDR4-2666. You wouldn’t sacrifice quality by using the cheapest tires on a sports car—similarly, don’t compromise on performance by opting for the least expensive RAM.
