Do you know if there will be new CPUs arriving in 2020 while I consider upgrading my setup? I'm planning to replace my current 2600x with an RTX 2060 and am exploring potential CPU options.

yeah, ryzen 4000 probably in October, and maybe an intel 11th gen launch before the end of 2020, probably 2021 afaik

The 4950 should be removed from AMD, and I might consider switching to Intel since they've been performing poorly recently.

It's not that bad actually—the 10.6 million is quite powerful, and the 10.9 million offers solid single-core speed.

All the concerns about security and the speculation around ampere GPU running on Gen 4 CPUs were part of my plan. Also, if a 4950 is released, it’s likely to focus on closing the single-core performance gap.

Intel maintains a strong lead in single-core performance significantly. AMD could possibly align around 4000.

1. Exactly, a RUMOUR. 2. Why would they add extra performance that less than 10% of the market can actually use? Source? If I understand you correctly, you are just making wild guesses.
