2020 HP BAKERS REVIEW: M11 processor issues with AMD RX 470 graphics card
I’m working on upgrading an HP desktop with a BAKERMS motherboard, a 10th gen i3 CPU, and no built-in graphics card. I bought a custom 500W PSU from HP because the standard one wouldn’t fit the case. I’m trying to install a SAPPHIRE RX 470 but it’s not connecting properly. I’ve used the same GPU in my own build and the RX 6600 XT worked fine, though the HDMI connection was tricky at first. After a short time, the RX 470 would only show up after a few refreshes and a driver install that appeared automatically. My current guess is the CPU might be AMD, which could explain the issue. I cleaned the GPU board and applied fresh thermal paste, but it still doesn’t work. Since this GPU is old and I don’t want to replace it, I’m wondering if it’s worth the effort or if I should wait for a better one.
