Yeah FEAR1 has the top AI I've ever seen in any game I enjoy. Their suppression fire running forward and firing backward when you tank is impressive. The atmosphere is really immersive. It's one of the best FPS horror games ever made—played it over 50 times without slow motion

I recently purchased the F.E.A.R. bundle for less than six pounds. I hadn’t considered it before since I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. back then, but it left a bad impression on me. The spelling looked similar with caps and periods, so I assumed it was the same game. Maybe it’s finally time to check what people are saying about it.

FEAR was an excellent game, particularly liked for the final hour.

You're in for a good surprise. If performance drops, checking device manager and turning off hid compliant devices helps. My speed improved from 15fps to 300fps. See the fix here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/sh...?t=1279444

FEAR initially captivated me with its impressive AI and creative tactics. The game featured dynamic characters and realistic destruction effects, making combat intense. The visuals were striking, especially with debris flying during explosions. The gore aspect was something I found appealing. However, later updates didn’t live up to expectations—FEAR 2 felt like a step down, and FEAR 3 is quite disappointing. While the alien’s AI is strong, the rest of the elements, like the androids and human characters, lack depth. It would have been better if players had more meaningful choices and better storytelling.

Back then, it was only a few years ago when individuals realized Valve invested effort into developing AI for insects like roaches—creatures that move around yet remain overlooked. Many thought the behavior was pre-programmed rather than natural.

Observe the current matches—everything appears superficial.

Fear was incredible and the graphics still look great today. I really enjoyed this game, beat it, and almost had a heart attack playing it. I wish there were more games like this. I’ve spent many hours in Skyrim lately, but the AI is so bad that even on legendary levels, I struggle to defeat giants easily. The AI feels too predictable, which kept me on edge during battles. Winning big battles always gave me a sense of accomplishment. This really motivates me to try it again and just enjoy how smooth it runs on my new hardware. ^.

The maps were created to give the AI a smarter appearance than it actually has, and the radio noise is fabricated. This has been confirmed by the developer—it's all an illusion.
