2000-2003 equivalent of modern programs
2000-2003 equivalent of modern programs
creating images from streams, editing photos, video work, video editing, torrenting, and running software? I’m considering using an older setup with: a motherboard with two VP6 connectors, a Pentium III processor around 1.2GHz, 2GB SDRAM, a GeForce 6200 graphics card, 512MB RAM, an IDE hard drive, a 20GB boot disk, and a 1TB SATA hard drive connected via PCI RAID on Windows XP Professional SP3. If these older systems can handle most of the same functions as today’s versions (with some differences), I’ll be using this rig for daily tasks instead of my i5, which only really shines in games. I’ve also updated my notes.
Windows Movie Maker is probably the best option for rendering. For photo editing, consider Paint or Photoshop—CS2 might work too. Back then, torrenting wasn’t really available if I recall. Programming varies by language, but Notepad offers a lot of flexibility.
I'll take a quick glance. Running XP Pro is working well—less than 100MB RAM needed for a clean install, and just 7MB of vRAM at 1024x768 resolution.
Reviewing various items, I need at least 2D visualization and a basic 3D rendering capability.
It's 2015, not 2003. Would you like me to capture a screenshot for clarity?
It seems you're interested in software from the 2000 to 2003 era, along with an operating system from that period. Let me know how I can assist!
