20 Mbit DSL vs. 50 Mbit LTE
Hey everyone! I’m wondering if the stability of a DSL link justifies its slower performance versus LTE speeds. Right now I have a 40 Mbit connection through LTE, but only about 17 Mbit on average. I’m concerned that moving to a busy city might improve the connection but reduce speed because more users will be using it at once. Any advice or perspectives would be greatly appreciated!
Because you already own an LTE modem, try it out once you’re inside the city. It makes sense to assume cellular networks offer stronger coverage in urban areas, though they can become crowded. If you don’t like the results, switch to a standard home internet connection. You’ll likely achieve more consistent speeds with that option than with LTE. Additionally, in major cities there’s more ISP competition, so you can compare prices and find better deals.
