Hey, I've been using my PC since mid-2018 and recently noticed an issue. When playing a game, I can only play for about 20 minutes before the fan starts making a loud noise and the screen goes black. I hear the game sound but can't see anything. I tried overclocking initially but it caused problems, so I reverted it. Now I'm unsure if the hardware is damaged or if it's just a cooling issue—my power supply seems fine. The specs are: CPU Intel Core i5 7600k LGA 1151, GPU Geforce GTX 1070, motherboard MSI z270 m3, RAM Vengeance Corsair 18GB DDR4, and power supply rated for 120mm at 600 watts.
What are your CPU temperatures?
Which cooler are you currently using?
18GB of RAM? That seems like a typo. I haven’t heard of the PSU brand before, so it probably isn’t helping. A quick search reveals some really bad reviews.
I'm not very familiar with PC components, but I checked the temperatures and the max is at 55°C, currently at 38°C.
My cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212.
The 18 was a typo, I meant 16 GB.
If my power supply is failing, do you have any recommendations for a good one? I don't care about the price, just want to enjoy my PC.
