I'm a video editor who recently increased my display resolution from 1700x to 3950x. Currently, I'm using 40GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM (two 16GB and two 4GB modules). I've heard that quicker RAM speeds can improve performance for this system, so I considered replacing my old setup. I explored different options but am unsure which would work best. Check your RAM performance first. You might even manage to boost it slightly.
I thought it could be near, probably because the slower NEO version includes XMP files for AMD. I’m not sure what to do with them yet.
It's a pleasant feature to have a higher core speed with lower voltage, allowing you to power it on and off without restarting. However, the practical advantage is minimal overall. I wouldn't rely on it for manipulating RAM. Instead, I'd use BIOS for that purpose. For someone like you who works with video editing, a 64 gigabit kit could be useful if you plan to use part of it as a RAM disk or scratch space. A modest RAM disk might improve performance with certain files and protect your main drive from excessive reads and writes. Keep in mind not all motherboards support running four sticks of that 3600 kit at full speed; you should verify your board's compatibility before adjusting RAM settings manually.
