I acquired two SATA M.2 SSDs from a friend. One is for Windows, the other you want to use for Linux and system tasks. There’s a small issue: your motherboard has two M.2 slots, but only one supports SATA and one only NVMe. The NVMe slot is slower than the SATA one, so you’re facing a choice. You could sell the SSDs, but be aware that personal data on them might be at risk if wiped. Consider upgrading to a compatible NVMe drive for better performance or explore alternative storage options.

Not knowing your budget or usage makes it tough to recommend anything, but I’d likely go for an M.2 NVME drive and pair it with a couple of enclosures (M.2 SATA to USB/USB-C). You can find cases that let you swap disks easily, so you only need one and just replace them when needed.

Sorry for the mistake—I haven’t used any forums before. You’re in the UK, and for privacy reasons you mostly shop on Amazon right now. With a £40 budget, could you share some links to enclosures that support SATA? Your 8x PCIe slot is free, but your 5600X has a thick case which limits airflow. I’m worried it might overheat because of the poor ventilation.
