I'm experiencing a significant lag issue in my online games, seemingly triggered by my brother’s recent switch to using Wi-Fi for his gaming setup. Both our systems are connected to a 1Gbps internet connection, and I have a Netgear Nighthawk SB6190 modem and a TP-Link Archer A8 AC1750 router. My build includes an Intel i7-4770K CPU, MSI Z87-G45 motherboard, 16GB DDR3-1600 RAM, and an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080. I've tried various troubleshooting steps, including port forwarding, DMZ mode (which I’m hesitant to use), enabling/disabling UPnP, and using a VPN which introduces noticeable lag. The issue began after my brother switched from a wall adapter to Wi-Fi; his connection appears faster. My wife’s replacement part should arrive soon, and I want this resolved before then. I'm currently utilizing a surfboard SB6190 and a TP-Link AC1750 router. My system specs are: CPU - Intel i7-4770K 3.5 GHz, Motherboard - MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, Memory – Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1600 Memory, Storage – WD Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5", Video Card – EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB, and a Corsair Builder 600W PSU. My brother's setup consists of an FX8350 CPU, Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard, an R9 380x GPU, Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-1866 Memory, and a WD 3.5 7200rpm storage drive. He's running Corsair CX 600 PSU. The potential conflict with his Wi-Fi connection is concerning.

It is quite typical to have difficulty bridging encrypted networks with unencrypted networks with consumer grade hardware.
I suggest running an ethernet cable if at all possible. Or get a better ethernet over power adapter.
