I'm installing a R9 270X graphics card on my HP Z600, and it needs two 6-pin connectors. It's fine to use any two available Molex connectors for the 6-pin adapter.

It might be an issue specifically with multirail PSUs. Certain GPU makers sometimes add them to the package.
