No need to worry about page file if you're not using it. Going up to 32 GB is unnecessary unless you're heavily gaming or running large applications. Just keep your background apps minimal for smoother performance.

It seems most games meet the 32GB requirement, but some suggest 16GB or less. Cyberpunk needs around 12GB and Warzone about 16GB.

Technically, running dual-rank RAM instead of single-rank is similar to what most 2x8GB configurations use, or switching from 1Rx16 to 1Rx8 with DDR5—though the actual memory performance depends more on how it's organized than the size itself. I wouldn't upgrade unless you're really taking advantage of the capacity.

It's essentially the same as using two 16GB modules. Having four sticks ensures dual-rank support, and both 2x16GB setups offer this guarantee. Performance should be nearly identical, though the 2x16GB version might reach a slightly higher clock speed (only relevant if you plan manual overclocking). Enabling XMP doesn't significantly impact results.

Excess RAM serves as a buffer for the operating system. Its relevance has decreased compared to the HD age, especially with the availability of quick SSD storage.

You don't have to purchase RAM in sets of four; instead, you can acquire two sets of two sticks from the same manufacturer and series, which should work reliably about 99.5%. You're not obligated to buy four 8 GB modules just for a slight speed boost compared to two 16 GB units. The advantage of using two ranks lies in the performance gain from running memory in pairs—each stick fills one channel, or two. This allows sticks to operate at one, two, or four ranks, though most desktops support only one or two ranks. The 1 in 1Rx8 or 2 in 2Rx8 configuration is common. Having two ranks lets the CPU queue commands on one rank while processing data on the other, saving a few nanoseconds. People often choose single-rank sticks for overclocking since they're simpler to adjust and place less strain on the processor's memory controller.
