I have a Ryzen 3 2200G system with an RX480. I’m planning to upgrade to 16GB RAM. The performance difference shouldn’t be huge, but switching from 8GB to 16GB is likely to improve FPS more, since newer games require more memory rather than just faster RAM. I’ve experienced this firsthand—initially had 8GB at 3200MHz, then upgraded to 16GB at 3000MHz. Although the speed gap isn’t massive, I noticed higher FPS mainly because the games could utilize over 6GB of RAM. You might also consider slightly overclocking the RAM if you’re not satisfied with the 2666MHz setting.
