GPU performance is high, but some users report issues with VRAM pads and potential dry paste after three years.

My temperatures stay near 70 for both CPU and GPU.

Verify GPU memory usage and monitor temperatures. Your 3080 Aorus reached 110°C despite running at 70°C initially after you reworked/replaced it.

Consider setting up MSI Afterburner and slightly reducing your GPU clock speed to check if the issue persists. Lower it by about 75-100 MHz. Temperatures should remain within normal ranges. The problem might stem from overheating or a defective GPU.

Your GPU is at 79°C with 99% utilization, and your CPU is at 71°C. That’s a bit high for sustained performance—CPU should stay around 50°C under load, and GPU temps above 80°C are usually a concern. The gradual rise from 50 to 60-70°C at 71°C seems normal, but keep an eye on trends.

your gpu is running at 80% utilization after switching to 1440p. consider whether a 3080 is suitable for your needs or if reverting to 1080p would be better.
