Currently you have an 8GB 2400Mhz system, but another stick with a different brand and higher speed is available. You might be able to use dual channel with it or consider a new build. DDR5 RAM is still upcoming and might be costly soon, so upgrading to 16GB or more could be worthwhile if you want better performance for gaming. Your current CPU is still solid and worth the investment in RAM if you plan to upgrade.

ddr5 will be delayed until the next generation of sockets arrives, which means it could take another year or two. Even if I get a compatible RAM module, there might be issues due to different brands and MHz values. A Ryzen processor with 3200MHz or higher would likely work, but compatibility could still be a problem.

AMD is planning to introduce a new socket in 2021, but its compatibility with DDR5 memory is uncertain. Consider whether to wait or upgrade your memory system.

If it won’t be until the end of 2021 they can even produce the 5000 series chips, let alone a new version that will be delayed
