I rely on a full HDTV and mostly run my games at 1600x900 for better performance. My GPU isn’t powerful enough, and the TV upscales it to 1080p, which gives vibrant colors but still feels unchanged. Recently I installed the latest AMD Catalyst Control Center 14.9 driver and the newest Windows 8.1 x64 updates. After rebooting, when I opened a game, the resolution was listed as 1680x1050, even though my TV displayed it at the top. The game indicated the resolution was set to 900p, but the output remained 1680x1050. I changed the desktop resolution to 900p to test, but the TV still showed 1680x1050. The result was a poorly upscaled image with washed-out colors, and even adjusting to 1680x1050 didn’t help. It seems the issue started after the updates, possibly affecting both the driver and Windows. It’s not the same as before. I’m struggling to play my games at the original resolution anymore. Help would be appreciated!

The recent updates have led to numerous issues, including around ten new AMD driver problems. I would revert the drivers.

You can undo both drivers and Windows updates if they are problematic.
