16 GB of memory available (7.59 GB usable)
Hello, yesterday I purchased the Gigabyte Aorus RGB DDR4 3200MHZ memory kit (2x8GB) along with a new Gigabyte B450 AORUS Elite motherboard. The problem is that Windows 10 displays only 7.95 GB usable. When using dual channel (slots 1 and 3), both sticks function correctly, but in single channel (slots 1 and 2) it shows the full 16GB. I’ve tried everything: updating BIOS, re-seating the CPU, enabling/disabling XMP, ensuring Windows boots with max memory in Advanced options. The RAM, motherboard (BIOS version F2), and Ryzen 5 2600 are all brand new. Thank you and have a great day!
I've already attempted that, I also tried rearranging them, still showing 16 gigabytes (7.59 GB) available. In Task Manager (under Performance then Memory), it says "Hardware reserved 8.0 GB." PS: I have a dedicated GPU, an XFX RX 580.
When you restore the BIOS to its optimal settings and ensure the RAM is placed correctly, does the system still indicate a reserved 8GB of hardware? You’ve found similar issues with this motherboard and have noticed some inconsistency. The suggestion from another forum (Dutch) points to a video that might help clarify this.
