I came back after reseating the CPU, but unfortunately it didn't fix the issue.
The CPU re-seat won’t fix the problem. You should manually adjust the timings for the Jedec after resetting all defaults, enter BIOS before posting. Use CL 22, 23 or 24. If you choose 23, turn off Gear Down mode. Focus only on the five main timings listed in the SPD tab. Try each Jedec configuration. If it still shows only 8GB usable in Windows, you can always install a new OS on a partition created via Disk Management, provided your drive has enough space. These are just suggestions for troubleshooting. I’m not sure this will solve the issue without testing it.
I’m back now! I checked all three CLs, but none worked. I’ll attempt the fresh Windows installation next. If that doesn’t help, I’ve attached a screenshot of the CL 24 setup.
That's accurate. If a fresh Windows installation confirms it, you can be certain it's hardware-dependent.
Only one drive is being used, which limits the allocation to 48.7 MB. I reviewed the BIOS settings for any relevant information but didn’t find anything. The BIOS appears to be up to date. I’ve attached a screenshot of just one drive in Task Manager and all the BIOS screens. Perhaps there’s something missing? I’ll try the other drive next and compare the results.
The 48MB hardware reservation indicates everything functions correctly individually. Single sticks fit without issues, but combined units fail. Your specific model (CMT16GX4M2C3000C15) isn’t listed in Gigabyte’s official memory support, though the non-RGB version (CMD16GX4M2B3000C15) is included, suggesting it should work. It could be a faulty slot that doesn’t cooperate in dual-channel mode. The challenge is diagnosing this with only two slots available for swapping sticks.
