Hello, I’m considering purchasing a 16GB SODIMM for my Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ARE05. This would increase my total RAM to 20GB because the module is soldered in, limiting the maximum capacity it can support. I’ve thought about whether this might affect the existing parts. Could adding 20GB cause a bottleneck with the CPU? My processor is a Ryzen 5 4500U, a mobile chip with six cores and a base speed of 2.38GHz. I also have a 128GB NVMe SSD and a 1TB HDD, mostly used for games. I’m planning a mid-range editing setup—1080p or 2K resolution, not yet up to 4K—and I’ve heard that boosting from 8GB RAM could improve performance. It would be good to know your thoughts.

There will always be a point of delay.
You speed up one section, the bottleneck shifts elsewhere.
If you wish to increase memory performance,
you'll only utilize what's necessary.
