You're looking to dive into 3D modeling while gaming, so focus on tools that support both creative and technical work. The 14900K offers strong performance for gaming and modeling, while the 7800X3D is great for high-end rendering but may require more setup. Consider what tasks matter most—gaming first, then investing in modeling software.

I believe your statement is correct, but will AMD be suitable in either scenario?

Absolutely, though Intel might hold a minor advantage.

Updated titles highlight performance considerations. We focus on real-world comparisons, such as which CPU suits your specific tasks. Avoiding generic debates like Intel vs AMD, we aim for practical advice on workload optimization.

Playing games is acceptable on both CPUs. If the system is mainly for gaming, what should you prioritize getting?

For 3D applications, the Intel CPU can be quicker, but in 3D modeling you usually rely on your GPU most of the time. That means either CPU usage stays low, making the 7800X3D a better choice for gaming.

They don't match up, they're not in the same range. For a 14900K you'd use a 7950X3D, and it would be the best choice. At that temperature it's tough to cool and not very efficient, though it might be quicker in rendering (and similar in games).
