1440 low performance BFV
1440 low performance BFV
So you're free to call me stupid, but I just got a 2560 x 1440 165hz G-sync monitor from ASUS. I was really excited to play all my favorite games in sharp 1440 resolution. But I noticed that in BFV I'm only getting between 50-65 fps, which is not great. I was hoping for at least 70-80 fps. My specs are an i7-9700k (5GHz), Zotac 1080ti AMP Edition with 16 GB T-Force Vulcan 2400Mhz, and a Z390-E ROG Strix. If anyone could explain what's happening or why I'm not getting the performance I expect, it would really help. Thanks.

The minimum FPS achieved on the low latency preset when DX12 is enabled varies depending on the system and settings, but it typically ranges from around 30 to 60 FPS under optimal conditions.
I have a comparable configuration with:
Intel Core i7-8700K (stock)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
Two 8 GB DDR4-3000 RAM (dual-channel)
Asus ROG SWIFT PG278QR (1440p, 165 Hz, G-Sync)
When I push everything to its limit but disable DXR and use full scaling, I achieve around 140-160 fps - indicating there might be an issue with your setup.
I'm definitely not in your hardware league, but that feels pretty low to me. Check out this BFV on a 1080TI—he managed around 90-100 frames per second. If possible, try using Afterburner or something similar and see if you're pushing the GPU, CPU, RAM, etc., to ensure there aren't any bottlenecks. Just stick with the settings.
Combine elements together, ensure you're using the newest drivers, confirm a dual channel setup (BF prefers this), and avoid setting resolution to 200%. Keep us informed about any issues so others facing similar problems can locate fixes.
It seems I'm feeling pretty confused right now... it looks like after updating my GPU drivers and using GeForce to "optimize" my graphics settings, the game was set to 200% resolution scaling. I have no idea how I missed that but thank you all very much.
I've reset the scaling to 100%, and the game is now running between 120 and 90 FPS with DX12 enabled.
Sorry to waste your time, haha.
Thanks.
