It varies based on your choices, but generally they’ll work quite similarly. Some options focus on Intel while others highlight Ryzen. You won’t lose much by picking either. AM5 cards can be on the higher side, but many now fall between 200 and 250 dollars.

Your cooler fits AM5 with an AM4 mount, but for Intel 12th or 13th generation models you'll need a LGA1700 adapter. If your cooler is older than a year, you might not have one and will need to purchase a compatible one from Corsair.

Consider upgrading with a new cooler or using a refitting kit.

It seems you're referring to a particular range, around five dollars.

So I can just buy the brecket and instell it into my cooler?? Im kinda of comflicted between AMD and Intel. Intel is good for gaming while AMD is more budget friendly and its easy to later upgrade the cpu with them. Unlike Intel where you have to change the motherboard as well.

It's a simple plastic or metal component that fits under the motherboard to secure the cooler, available from suppliers. The statement about Intel and AMD reflects a shift around 2018 when Zen chips debuted, making performance more comparable. Now both processors are similar in gaming capabilities, and the latest AMD models still lack a budget option around the 7000 series, while Intel hasn't introduced a 13th-gen chip. For fresh insights: the top choices are likely the 13600K on DDR4, the 13700K on AM5 with a higher price, or the 13900K with the 7950X, which offers AM5 durability. Let me know if you need more details.

I have some cash to spare and plan to upgrade to a 4080 or the new XTX for gaming at 2k. I don’t want the top-of-the-line CPU (my current is a 9900k), and I’m avoiding overclocking. However, I’m looking for a solid upgrade with DDR5 memory in mind.

Which components are you employing? Currently, a top gaming setup for 1080p or 1440p could be a 5800X3D and a 6950XT, everything will function smoothly and it'll be cheaper than the 4080 alone.
