I've heard some negative feedback about Gigabyte recently. A friend who bought the same board mentioned RAM issues. It seems Gigabyte might not have performed well this time. I'm planning to check out motherboard review videos to find reliable options.

Several users are experiencing issues where the gigabyte board operates above 2133MHZ on DDR4, leading to crashes.

It's great to hear from you! Just checking in—appreciate the advice. I'll start looking into the options before buying the board and will place the CPU order soon. Thanks again for your support!

This deal is attractive for buyers in the USA. The price is around $620 plus an additional $10, making it a solid offer.

He mentioned speed issues related to the Aorus line of boards. He wasn’t sure if it was a simple fix with a firmware update or something more serious, but he’s considering getting one for the next generation and might wait for an update if possible. If it’s a major problem, he’ll look into other alternatives first.

Honestly, I’ve only done a little research on 690 boards. Most of what I’ve heard is negative about the gigabyte. I’m not sure if that applies to just one brand or all of them. So far, I haven’t picked up any good reviews from MSI, ASUS, or similar companies.

He experienced boot loops using XMP. This was a high-performance 4000mt/s setup (2x16). Adjusting manually to 3600 didn’t help; essentially nothing beyond jdec worked. I’m a big supporter of Gigabyte, and I’m confident it will be resolved eventually, but starting with issues is a frustrating situation.

Consider reaching out to your Gigabyte representative prior to placing the order to check for any broader problems or compatibility with your particular setup. Once confirmed, you might opt for the MSI combination, as it seems particularly appealing.

There's probably going to be teething issues to greater or lesser extent on all of these since it's a new architecture and configuration. Maybe lurk around some MSI forums to see what kind of results they're getting on that Z690 before you pull the trigger.

I thought I was on the right track, but I’m not sure if it really will help. My Gigabyte contact confirmed that the recent F6a BIOS update from two days ago should resolve XMP problems. Has your friend tried it or have they switched to another RAM? It seems Crucial and Corsair were the main brands with issues on the new Gigabyte boards.
