I purchased a 12900k last year when my GPU wasn’t powerful enough. Now that my build is complete, it runs at full capacity in games and gets very hot—reaching up to 90°C. I’m using the Lian Li Gallahad 360 cooler after reading its review on Gamer Nexus. It performed well in their tests for that model. I replaced the CPU two times because I switched to a Thermalright contact frame. I also double-checked the original plastic wrap and confirmed fans and pump function. Since I added an AIO, heat stays out of the case without overheating. My case is the Lian Li O11D XL. Anyone have concerns about this setup? Could it be that the AIO helps but isn’t sufficient under heavy load?

90c appears frequently in these processors. Check if clock speed is being limited.

You can adjust temperature and power settings in your BIOS, along with fan and pump curves.

While enjoying AC Odyssey, temperatures stay consistently high, often reaching 90-100 degrees. There are frequent peaks above 80, though no visual effects appear. It feels a bit concerning overall.

i would check how warm the radiator gets.. if it's realy warm speed up the fans.. water cooling fan curves should work from liquid temperature.. if fans on full blow doesn't manage to cool it, your AIO is under dimentioned for your CPU. If it doesn't get warm at all i would think pump isn't pumping or something is wrong on how it's mounted. (like air trapped in the cooling block.)

The air escaping from the case is hot, while the tube returning to the block stays cooler than the one leading to the radiator. I adjusted the fan curve a bit, but it seemed overly confident. Still seeing high temperatures, possibly less frequent operation. I’ll try downvolting next to check if that improves things.

just trying it out. crank up the fans to their highest speed and check if it maintains the lower temperature. it seems the pump is functioning properly, with one tube getting cooler and feeding the cooling block effectively. if it still doesn’t cool things down, you might need a custom loop with extra radiators or consider lowering the CPU voltage to help.

It looks like the temperature was quite high, but your hardware seems to be functioning properly. I’m going to lower the voltage now to see if it helps. The CPU that overheated is still working fine, so this adjustment should make a difference.
