My 5950x works smoothly with 4x32GB at 3200MHz. Others often use 3600MHz even when XMP is turned on. Intel’s 12th/13th gen DDR4 supports 128GB at 3600MHz without problems, but switching to DDR5 would limit you to around 4400MHz if you’re lucky.

If I needed 2x48, would any 48x2 unit be sufficient or would I just get RAM listed at the quality level?
