Laterally shifting focus only makes a noticeable difference in areas that benefit from additional cores. If Zen 1 were restricted to just one Zen core, upgrading from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 7 1800x wouldn't offer much real gain, since performance isn't sufficient. The same applies to the 5600x—both models are nearing end of life for this generation.

5600X delivers strong performance for its price. It's unlikely either system supports future upgrades, as next-gen models will use different connectors. AMD is expected to offer better speed and lower cost.

The 5600X excels in gaming performance. The 11700k maintains a minor edge in multicore tasks thanks to its increased number of cores and threads.
