The updated 11700 (non K) is marginally more expensive than the 10700K in my area. Is it a better choice for a new PC? It's intended solely for productivity, not for discrete GPUs. There aren't many benchmarks comparing the 11th vs 10th generation non K models. I'm getting decent cooling either way, so I might overclock if I choose the K version.

Overclocking could boost performance, adding around $100 for a good cooler and a Z590 board. A better choice without extra cost might be an 11700 with a B560. If your needs are simpler, a 3700 series or budget GPU could work well.

The price for the 10850k depends on the location you're referring to. Could you clarify which area or market you mean?

10850k is roughly 32 dollars higher than 11700. That’s 46 dollars more than 10700k. I checked several 3xxx AMD options, but I believe combining the cost of a budget GPU—needed for a 4k screen plus shipping since it's used—I could achieve better performance for the price with an Intel CPU and integrated graphics. I also don’t have a set budget, but I thought the 10700k price aligns with what I’m aiming to spend while getting a solid CPU. The availability of the 11700 made me consider whether paying a bit more would be worthwhile.

For these amounts I would choose 10850k.
