11600K with 32GB and 3200Mhz RAM (two 16GB units) suggestions
Hello folks I'm after a bit of advise, never too proud to ask for help. I've got an 11600K here that will run 2x 8GB 3200MHz fine, memtest 0 issues, boot to windows and work perfectly. I got a good deal on a 32GB kit of the same RAM but 2x 16GB @ 3200Mhz. PC boots / passes memtest with 1x 16GB 3200MHz DIMM in running at 3200Mhz but won't post at 3200MHz with both sticks in. The other stick is the same, boots fine @ 3200MHz, its just if you fit both 16GB DIMMS it refuses to post at 3200MHz...but will work fine @ JDEC of 2400MHz. Answers on a post card please folks, the RAM is on the QVL list for the board, its a B560 Tomahawk WiFi & i5 11600K. Thanksssss
No, I did not clear CMOS after each memory configuration change.
Rocket Lake may require some adjustments, like boosting DRAM or VCCSA/VCCIO slightly. It appears the settings differ there. I wouldn't jump into higher voltages just yet—explore your own save configurations first. Adding a small extra voltage above your current level seems safe. Remember, stick to the standard VCCIO range and avoid pushing it too high.
The memory controller in Rocket Lake lags behind earlier versions. You may need to utilize Gear 2. While I’m not familiar with this generation, it seems newer boards favor Gear 1 for better performance.
