Sure thing, but I got a little mixed up there. The $279 price tag is what I paid for the 11700k, and I’m thinking about returning it since it’s not worth much. Losing one M2 sounds like a small price to pay for the deal, thanks for the tip!

Thanks for your assistance. That’s something I usually overlook when creating projects, but it’s something I should definitely consider next time.

For a Z590 and 10th generation model, choose one with three slots to keep two available for use.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I feel like going with the Z490 MSI would be better since it has two M.2 slots and is currently on sale for $180, while the 10700K for $279 just doesn’t match up.

I upgraded to Z490 and paired it with my i9 10900K. It felt much better.

I used Z590 for the real PCIE4 in the 11th generation setup, but it turned out to be an error.

As I get older, I often find it helpful to use a magnifying glass to see the details in motherboard manuals. Keeping things easy is important for me.

I boosted my CPU speed to 4.5ghz and tested Cinebench R23 – everything runs smoothly with the best temperatures I’ve seen, around 83°C. Voltage stays steady at about 1.35V.

4.5ghz on a 10700K is possible, but stock all-core typically hovers near 4.7 or 4.8ghz. Your voltage seems quite high—aim for around 1.15 for 4.5ghz and 1.2–1.25v for 4.7ghz. At 1.35v you should reach at least 5ghz across all cores.

Oh no, I thought this was another thread. Actually, it's about my 6700k.
