I thought copper offers better low-latency performance for short distances, while fiber provides reduced latency over greater lengths since it can travel farther without needing regeneration. Fiber also consumes significantly less power and avoids issues like crosstalk or interference.

10g-base and 10g-base rate offer less delay compared to 10g-base rate because of the protocol design. A key factor is it uses a single stream rather than four with RJ45.
