10gb dual network interface card
10gb dual network interface card
Based on your budget, you can easily obtain a dual port SFP+ NIC along with a 10Gb RJ-45 transceiver.
Thanks for the update! That's the name I recognized before. I recently installed a new PC and didn’t transfer or delete anything from my browser, so there’s no history left. On Windows 7, I have fiber internet and the router only supports RJ45 with 10GB speeds. I’m thinking about upgrading later but don’t want to buy everything at once.
It might be simpler to rely on fiber, but it offers cost savings, reduced latency, and less power consumption.
I’m thinking about going fiber soon, but I need to fix my roof first. That’s why I’m getting a 10GB NIC now—it’s better than my current 1GB onboard. After the roof is done, I’ll plan to redo a few rooms and install fiber through them. Thanks for checking in, Nick! Just a quiet guy here, haha.
You’d likely require a device to bridge the modem and a switch, enabling fiber throughout the house. Many residential modems and routers include SFP ports for this purpose. For equipment that can’t support an SFP card, another converter would be needed.
