Looking for the most affordable and reliable 10G network card with RJ45 ports?
How many ports are available? What capabilities are required? Do you require RJ45? Fiber tends to be more affordable and consumes less power. MikroTik CRS305? Netgear XS708E? You can also opt for direct connections, eliminating the need for a switch altogether.
I need RJ45 ports because Cat6A is already installed inside my home. The two devices I plan to connect are near each other—one uses TrueNAS and the other runs Windows 11. Would a direct connection work for TrueNAS? Can I have multiple network connections on one system so they can talk to each other in the house?
The tx401 10G PCIe card performs well with Windows and works nicely in my Qnap NAS. It was also very affordable.
