Setup details have been shared. The router is a Netgear RAX120. The 5GbE port links to a 10GbE switch. All my 10GbE and multi-gig devices connect through the same switch. A gigabit NAS is attached via two bonded links. The 10GbE switch connects to a 16-port unmanaged Gigabit switch, which hosts multiple devices. I experience the expected performance from each device, handling full bandwidth transfers. When moving data to a NAS, speeds match what’s needed because the storage can manage the load. Full gigabit speeds are maintained on all connections. I’ve never faced any problems; even WIFI traffic to a Gigabit device operates at peak speeds most of the time. My devices—two Windows 10 PCs and a home lab PC running ESXi—all run at 10GbE and support jumbo frames.

I anticipate transferring substantial files between NVME Gen 4 X4 drives on one system to another, likely swapping from MP600 to MP600 Pro. This would probably be the only occasion I consider pushing the 10Gbe limit. My current gigabit switch was bought in 2010—essentially aiming for dependable performance over several years. I might keep using it for all gigabit equipment, and my existing server could become limited by the built-in gigabit if the upgrade to a 10G card isn’t worth the effort. It’s possible I’ll even utilize that machine for my upcoming 3D printer setup.

i use this one from Mikrotik and it works great. I use the SFP+ ports for a fiber line one to my main computer and one to my NAS and the rest i just have my bitcoin miners plugged into. Everything works great and the speeds are awesome. There is a bit of a setup process that takes a few min to setup as a dumb switch so my Asus router controls most of it
