It could work well for your needs. The Arista DCS-7124SX-F is designed for 10 gigabit speeds with 24 ports, making it suitable for a dual server setup and high-speed data transfer across multiple devices. At $250, it offers solid value compared to its features. Your plan sounds practical, so it’s a reasonable investment.

The specifications are fine, yet the volume will be overwhelming. For a server room, go for it. If it’s in your home, you’ll need to consider how much noise you’re willing to handle.

It's meant for a high-density server setup, not an office environment. Keep that in mind. Arista isn't designed to handle end-user interactions, so you won't receive any assistance or updates through them. This means the software running there is your only option, which might be fine for your needs but should be considered carefully.

Sure, I'll rephrase that for you.

I don't intend to tackle anything complex with it; instead, I'll focus on its switching capabilities and basic Layer 3 features.

I'll operate this inside a server room with other noisy gear, so it shouldn't cause any issues. EDIT: I purchased and received the switch—it's quite loud. When I power it on, it's very loud initially, but once it stabilizes, it's the loudest switch I've ever used. I'm okay with this since I don't mind the noise level and it offered good value.
