10900k vs 11700k
10900k vs 11700k
You're looking to decide between the Intel 10900K and 11700K processors. The 10900K is generally considered more powerful, while the 11700K supports PCIe 4.0 for faster GPUs like the RTX 3090. Since your setup will mainly handle deep learning training and occasionally play games, the choice depends on performance needs versus future-proofing. The RTX 3090 is a solid pick for your GPU requirements. Let me know if you need more details!
I’d choose only the 11700K if your deep learning tasks really gain from AVX-512. Otherwise, I’d prefer a 10900K/10850K or higher over the i7.
It's worth noting the 11900K review. The other 11th generation chips tend to be viewed more favorably, though they don<|pad|> a bit less so compared to the 10th generation. It's like choosing between options—if you can find either at the same price, go with the newer one. Still, the 11900K doesn't hold up well. Cost likely plays a role, but even a 10700K usually edges out it in many situations.
There are no faulty items, just poor pricing. They lowered the price by $15 once the video came out, but I question if it really matters. If you're looking for an 11700k, consider the 5800x which is roughly the same cost and just as effective, or opt for the 10700k/10850k to save some cash.
I understand the MKL is designed for Intel CPUs, but I'm curious about AVX-512's impact. Let me look into it. Thanks!
If the 11900k was $300, it would make sense... I think I should adjust it to say there are no bad products, just extremely poor pricing.
It's disappointing when contrasted with the 10th series. The performance actually drops more than expected at that price point, particularly for the i9 which costs more and underdelivers compared to the older model. The only exception is AVX512. In gaming, the i5, i7, and i9 all behave almost the same, making it pointless to opt for the i7 or i9 unless you specifically need AVX512.
