When playing games like FH5 or CS:GO, the CPU stays high (100°C+) until you enter the game. In contrast, games such as Minecraft, Fortnite, or Forza run cooler (70-80°C). You might consider upgrading to a cooler like the Galahad 360 AIO or the Arctic Liquid Freezer II. Both are reasonably priced and offer better airflow. The Corsair 275R Airflow case could work if you mount it front-mounted, though it may require a fan header splitter. It depends on your budget and cooling needs.
I own an i9 10900k and i9 10900kf with EK 360mm AIO coolers. They’re configured for TVB in games, keeping temperatures under 70°C. After overclocking with Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility, they stayed stable even at 5.3GHz. Power consumption reached around 320W and the 90s mark, meaning extra cooling would be necessary. In-game performance was similar at 5.1GHz compared to TVB use and only marginally better at 5.2GHz. Notably, they never crashed even at 5.3GHz. If I wanted higher speeds, I’d consider a push-pull configuration with my Corsair 5000d, as there’s space for it on top.
I transformed the power into BTU (taking into account that processors waste over 90% of that value due to heat loss). 320w equals about 1090 BTU per hour. That makes sense at 90°C!
I possess the two fans at the front that came with the case, one at the back and two on the top side panel. The GPU is in a "flex" (vertical) position, acting as a 3-slot card. I'm using the case's mount, which prevents closing the panel. My voltage settings are Fixed Voltage 1.37, Turbo LLC VSS, VCOCC 1.2. All cores run at 51, with one core up to 10 active cores. The ring operates at 48 power limits off. In games, voltage sits between 1.38 and 1.4. Under full load it's around 1.3-1.32. Perhaps I'm misconfiguring something? The Z490 Vision G Stock (auto voltage) was about 1.4 at 4.9GHz @ 90°C. I adjusted manually to 1.21 at 4.9GHz @ 70°C.
240 rad isn't sufficient for an OC on this chip. Consider raising temperatures by using intake versus exhaust mounts. I have a 360 setup, but it doesn't improve much compared to 240—it's slower to stabilize and produces slightly less noise.
I don't recall much. I begin around 1.27 and stop near 1.34. Seems you might be missing something due to cooling issues. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a 240mm radiator on anything. I prefer airflow with a D-15 instead, and even that struggles with an i9 10900k. A 360mm AIO would work better. I'd consider a Freezer or EK model—they run cooler than most. For cases, choose something with enough space for movement or a larger radiator. I use Lian Li Dynamics; they have ample room at the top. Spoiler.
My 360 functions as a secondary intake for my 5000d airflow. Temperatures remain stable, with a minimum of 5.1GHz and a maximum of 5.3GHz (up to four cores), fixed at 1.375V, using a middle-level LLC configuration. Under heavy CPU usage it reduces to 1.29V. CBR23 looped testing reached a peak of 83°C, while Realbench averaged around 87°C over an hour. No overheating or crashes observed. In games performance stays below 70. Occasionally shader tweaks push it into the mid-80s, but everything stays within acceptable limits and short 80°C+ sessions follow.
