10850K on B560 platform, TDP and voltage configurations
I assembled a PC using a 10850K and an MSI B560M Mortar WiFi. No graphics card was installed. The room temperature reached around 40°C in Delhi, India. Initially, I thought about connecting just the CPU and diving into video editing or design work. But after some research, I found that running multi-core tests consistently pushed temperatures to 90-100°C. When I checked BIOS settings, the TDP values were set to 255W for each stage, with a 56-second runtime. Should I stick to those numbers or adjust the voltage first? It seems the thermal throttle is likely affecting performance regardless of other settings. This is still new territory for me.
The CPU cooler is from the 10850K series. The processor model is i5-12600K. It's worth noting that these options are becoming less common today.
