1080Ti vs. Quake 1?
1080Ti vs. Quake 1?
Sorry... I can share an 8800 GT, though it has a few imperfections and had a baking issue once.
Hey, it’s a legitamate cure sometimes! Anyways I’m fine in the mean time, not enough time for gaming. So I’m just watinf until the miners jump ship for a decently priced low profile GTX 1050 TI.
For using the original Quake, there are some challenges: it runs on DOS, but source ports exist for Windows. Even with that, the engine is limited to one core, which could restrict frame rates due to design choices from back then. It brings back memories of achieving 4-digit FPS in 3DMark 03’s Game 1 Test a few years ago. Note: A GTX 1080 typically reaches around 2000 FPS in 3DMark 03. Nice!
He adjusted the game's difficulty to its lowest level and achieved around 1000 frames per second on a system with a 1050 processor.
